Best DUI Lawyer

Are you presently facing DUI related charges in Gainesville or any other part of Northern Georgia? If so, then it will be in your best interests to do your research so you can find the best DUI lawyer in the area. At the Law Offices of Richard S. Lawson, we cannot stress enough how important it is to select an attorney with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of DUI laws.

Are you afraid that your case is hopeless; do you feel that a conviction is unavoidable? At our firm, we don't take an apathetic approach to any of our clients' cases. With more than 20 years of experience practicing in the field of DUI, our lead attorney Richard S. Lawson has exemplary qualifications, qualifications that not many attorneys claim to have.

While most other attorneys out there are considered "general practitioners," we are different. Our firm is dedicated to strictly DUI defense. Therefore, instead of spreading ourselves thin over a variety of different practice areas, we are able to dedicate 100% of our efforts to the field of DUI. In fact, in Mr. Lawson's career, he has successfully resolved over 4,500 cases and he has been lead counsel at the jury trials and motions of hundreds of Georgia DUI cases.

Since we focus strictly on DUI defense, we are able to utilize our powerful and effective resources available to us. In our clients' cases, we can call upon expert witnesses, medical doctors, investigators and former law enforcement officers to help us build and defend our clients' cases. Attorney Richard Lawson is not only adept at defending against DUI charges, since 2000, he has been certified as a DUI standardized field sobriety instructor, not many attorneys can say that. As a certified instructor, he is authorized to teach police officers how to conduct field sobriety tests on those individuals that are suspected of driving under the influence.

AN ATTORNEY WITH EXPERIENCE

Mr. Lawson is not only a defense lawyer; he is a former DUI prosecutor as well. After he received his law degree from Emory University's school of law, he was selected as an Assistant District Attorney where he prosecuted DUI cases for the state. His training for becoming a DUI prosecutor was the same method that is used today to teach prosecutors and judges. When Mr. Lawson left the prosecutor's office to open his own DUI defense practice, he brought all that he had learned along with him.

Today, Mr. Lawson is also an instructor at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education where he has trained other DUI attorneys on how to win a DUI case and how to get their clients favorable case results.

Richard Lawson has also published numerous works relating to DUI defense including "Investigation in DUI Cases" at the Georgia Association of Private Investigators in 2007, "It's Only a DUI" in the Defense of Drinking Driver's Institute in 2004 and "Legal Ethics" in the Defense of Drinking Drivers Institute in 2002 among other published works. In 2000, he taught a seminar on cross-examination techniques to the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
